Set in stages you build an army of plants ranging from sunflowers to peashooters to ward off hoards of zombies. Sunflowers act as currency [more sun you have better plants you can buy] There are 49 types of plant throughout the game.
The garden is split into grids, in each grid you can place your chosen plant, as the levels progress the garden changes.. The garden gets bigger, some have a swimming pool.. Some levels are at night, in fog and even on the roof!
Just as the level changes, so do the zombies. Some have cones/buckets on their head which ables them to take more hits and some have vehicles.
To keep players on their toes, there are levels that take the form of different mini games. For example, walnut bowling [Using walnuts to bowl down zombies] My personal favourite is the survival levels. There are plenty of games to try your luck on with no fewer than 20 to pick from.
Plants Vs Zombies has 12 achievements giving you a total of 200 gamer score. achievements are as follows.
